Energy markets; climate policy; international trade; technical change and computational economics
Biographical Statement:
Professor Rutherford is an applied economist working on issues in trade, energy and environmental economics. His methodological focus involves the use of mathematical programming methods to better understand economic policy choices. Before joining the UW Madison faculty, Rutherford held faculty appointments at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, the University of Colorado Boulder, and the University of Western Ontario.
